Ministries of Our Church

At Heartland Baptist Church, we are striving to please God through our lives. Therefore, in all our ministries, there is an underlying desire to please God. Whether it be in a Sunday school class or a choir group or simply a time of fellowship, our desire to please God is first.

Services

Sunday
Each Sunday morning at 10:45 and Sunday evening at 6:30, we meet in the auditorium for a time of singing, special music and preaching by our Pastor.

Wednesday
Each Wednesday night at 7:00, we meet again for a special time of singing, prayer for our needs, special music provided by our children's choir and an insightful Bible study by our Pastor.

The "Comfort Ye" Ministry

We are pleased to inform you that God has given our church this unique and much needed ministry! This ministry seeks to meet the needs of those in need of wheelchairs, crutches, etc. The service is free of charge and available for anyone in need. We also provide a source of food for those in need. If you, a family member or friend, are in need, please contact the church and ask for Mrs. Shirley Abbott. (Home #896-9179)

Childrens Ministries

Here at Heartland, we believe that our children are the next generation of servants for the Lord. Therefore, it is imperative to us that the children not only learn about God and His Word, but also enjoy the time that they are learning! We have taken great care to provide for the children programs that are both educational and fun.

Sunday School for the Children

Each Sunday morning at 9:45, we have an exciting Sunday School program for the children and youth. There are classes for all ages from the nusery through the teenagers. We attempt, through our Sunday School program, to familiarize the children with the Bible through informational Bible stories and lessons - written by the Pastor - that make the Bible applicable and alive to the child.

Junior Church

After Sunday School, the children are escorted to a special Junior church designed specifically for them. The 3-5 year old children meet together and are taught on their level. Children in the first - sixth grades have a separate meeting place for their service. Here they will sing children's songs and learn more about God through stories and applicable songs. The children are also encouraged to memorize significant facts and verses from the Bible.

The Heartland Baptist Brigade

Each Wednesday night beginning at 6:45, the children meet for a special time of Bible memory and singing. Each child who meets the requirements of faithfulness and Bible memory is rewarded with a special certificate signed and presented by the Pastor to the child in the Sunday evening service. They will also learn special songs which they then perform for the adults each Wednesday night during the service.

YOUTH MINISTRIES

Our pastor realizes the needs that are presented to both teenagers and their parents during the teen years. As a result, he has taken on the teenage program himself, bringing his years of experience working with young people, hoping to help them through these very important years.

Junior Camp

Every summer, the pre-teens have the opportunity to go to Christian summer camp. This is an enjoyable time for the kids as they are able to get away, have fun and focus on their walk with God.

Bus Ministry

Every Sunday morning, we send a bus around our community with the intent to pick up those who would like to attend church but have no other way of getting here. This service is available to everyone who needs it!

Adult Ministries

We believe that the Bible is a practical Book, written by a practical God, for us to use in our everyday lives. Therefore, our Sunday School lessons are both practrical and useful in everyday life.

Sunday School

Each Sunday at 9:45, we have a Sunday School program for the adults. We presently have two adult classes.

The Auditorium Class

The first adult class is the Auditorium class, which is available to all adults. Here, we have the opportunity to learn more about God's Word in a more personal way.

The Ambassador Class

We also have a couple's class, taught very capably by Larry Stovall. Bro. Larry, as he is known at the church, spent many years as a pastor and teacher and president in a Bible College. Each Sunday, he brings this unique background to the Ambassador's class.
